Flooding into Cooks Close

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 10:40, Fri 5 January 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5398871.

On Two occasions in the last couple of years flood water has flowed into Coosk Close from Hartwell Road. It originates from the other side of the railway bridge and comes from the farm land. the drains cannot cope with this amount of water and has caused cooks close to be completely flooded. This can be prevented with a little irrigation on hartwell road. I have video evidence of this water and its important that this is dealt with to prevent further flooding to our road. (reported here because it doesnt allow me to reports floods and calling the phone numbers always send me back here. I am going around in circles. please help. I am not angry just need help to fix it. Thanks

  • Great news. Although I will probably need to add another report I would like to point out that the flooding has ruined the road surface in cooks close. See picture. Thanks

  • Hi.

I know I have commented many times on this but I want to be sure you are fixing the right issue as I can see no work has been done at the cause of the flooding and we are rapidly approaching autumn. The flooding source is from the other side of the bridge to cooks close. The water comes from the road and the fields and does not hit any drains on that side of the bridge resulting in the water flowing under the bridge and into cooks close. Please confirm that the source issue is due to be fixed before winter comes. Many thanks
