Large pothole on the B4036 between A5 and Thrupp Grounds

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 16:25, Sun 31 December 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5372364.

Caused a blown tyre on my car on 29/12. Not sure if this has already been reported as there are numerous reports on this section of road and the whole road surface is generally unsafe and deteriorating. Team were patching a week prior to Christmas but not all defects have been repaired -see other reports near Thrupp Grounds and towards Daventry.

  • This pothole is still not fixed, I burst my tyre on this last night as the road was waterlogged and the potholes not visible. There was another car around the bend who had done the same on another pothole going the other way. The stretch of road from Long Buckby to Daventry is in need of urgent repairs!

  • Why has this been updated as repair rejected? Attached is the photo of the tyre that was blown by this crater on 29/12 which has been reported to West Northants Insurance. This is clearly a dangerous road defect which need immediate attention.

  • I hit the pot hole here on 04/01/24, travelling westbound towards Daventry, just after the A5 junction. This resulted in a puncture to my NSF tyre. This is a busy road linking Daventry to the A5.

  • I hit this pothole on 27th February at 18:10 which gashed my nearside front tyre and deformed the wheel. Really unsafe and hard to spot and avoid in dark and wet conditions. How can the hole not meet criteria for repair?!?
