Drain in wrong position to stop severe flooding
Reported via desktop in the The drain is damaged category anonymously at 11:51, Sat 30 December 2023
Sent to Gloucestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5368103.
A drain positioned on the right hand side of the entrance (facing into the Close) of Swindon Close, close to the junction of Swindon Road needs to be moved down into Swindon Road. In it's present position the water running off Swindon Close bypasses the drain and collects in the road with the flow of water running Se to NW. Even with moderate rainfall the water can rise to kerb level and causes a major problem to pedestrians walking on the south side of the footpath. I have witnessed many occasions when pedestrians have been sprayed with water by vehicles driving past. This situation has now been in place since early 2000.
