No signpost for the public path (Gissing FP 3)

Reported via desktop in the Footpaths/ Rights of way (usually not tarmac) category anonymously at 13:38, Fri 22 December 2023

Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5349047.

No signpost, where Gissing FP 3 leaves Slough Lane. In the absence of signage, there is absolutely no indication, on the ground, even of the very existence of Gissing FP 3, let alone of its whereabouts. Countryside Act 1968 Section 27(4) mandates local highway authorities to erect signage where it is needed to assist persons unfamiliar with the locality to follow the course of the path. And DEFRA Rights of Way Circular 1/09 admonishes that "Authorities should ensure that members of the public are provided with sufficient information, by means of appropriate signs or notices, particularly at path junctions, to enable them to use the local rights of way network."
