No mud clearance no signs as stated!

Reported via mobile in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 08:33, Fri 22 December 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5347715.

See report 5335111, sorry to say you have been fobbed off. Travel this route from Peachcroft up as far as Baileys Crescent 4-5 times a day and never seen a road sweeper yet. As of this morning building sites all closed but mud not touched and no warning signs up for mud in road as was stayed in report number listed. So sorry for any other road users getting chunks of mud and gravel hit up the sides of their cars and an accident waiting to happen for anyone on a motorbike. I hope no frosts or ice appear on this road before they return in the new year or it Will be an accident trap and I understand at least 3-4 vehicles have already skidded/had accidents along this stretch because of the mud. I will make it clear I’m not at all against new building it has to happen but with all the money these firms make they really need to be called to task and billed if necessary to keep the surrounding highways safe. I am issuing this again as part evidence/recording if more accidents happen. I know your resources are limited and I thank you for your time.

  • Thank you for reporting this. Our Site Inspector is checking the state of the roads when he is in the area and has spoken to Bellway Homes a couple of times, advising that the mud being transferred onto the road is unacceptable and to ensure that the carriageway is kept clean. We can confirm that Bellway Homes do have a road sweeper and wheel washing facilities on site.
