  • Bin bags on path to mask damaged , broken uneven slabs which are hazardous to public due to delivery from a lorry . Public forced to walk on road at present

  • Due to a grab lorry parking on the public foot path making a delivery to 96 Gotch road at 10:15am on the 19/12/2023 this has caused major damage. The footpath has been privately closed off causing pedestrians to now walk on the road, creating another hazard. This is not acceptable and not been done by the council. There are elderly tenants living on Sherwood drive and now forced off the path.

  • Day 2 and no repair or proper barrier from damaged paving on Sherwood drive . Opposite side to street light , so difficult to see the poor effort to close path to pedestrians with bin bags and plastic tape once it gets dark . My elderly mother was forced to walk in the road that is also caked in mud ! Needs sorting ASAP before someone falls or slips !

  • The footpath is now being dug up. Has the highways agency been notified of these works being carried out and is there a permit in place? As the works are not being carried out by a council or highways agency contractor and as a resident we have had nothing to say footpaths are to be shut off. If there is a permit when will the works be completed for?

  • The owner of 96 Gotch road (who organissd the contractors who damaged sherwood drives public pathway ) . Appears to have removed slabs and filled in . He had a guy to give him a quote for works to path and dropped down kerb today . This implies he hasnt organised a repair , so therefore public footpath closed with plastic tape indefinately . Surely he would need to seek a NCC approved contractor for this work as the state of the path is dangerous , uneven & muddy . Pathway way used frequently by residents , dog walkers and other pedestians . Again , all forced to walk into the road as verges have been torn up by lorry tyres . This is an unfair state to leave indefinately without notification . Our concerns that this work should be carried out swiftly and by approved contractors to ensure the longevity of our pathway

  • After contacting highways agency they have no record or permit for work to be carried out on the public footpath. An inspector to visit the area in due course. It is a criminal offence, under section 137 of the Highways Act 1980, to obstruct the whole or part of the width of a public path.
