Numerous dangerous crossroads A283 & A272

I commute along the A283 after Storrington and the A272 through Cowfold frequently and have done for the past 2 and 1/2 years. I have always felt that both of these roads an encounter a large number of very dangerous crossroads that are poorly signed for all directions of traffic, ESPECIALLY at night!

This evening on my commute home I drove past the horrific accident that happened just after Storrington on the way to the A24. I drove past it at approx 22:45 Friday 15th December 2023, there must have been at least 8 emergency vehicles at the scene and as I approached in my car to follow the diversion up Water Lane. I saw at least 2 cars totally smashed to pieces and seemingly suspended 4ft or so in the trees at the corner of the A283 and Sullington Lane. It was a truly harrowing sight, I have always been cautious of all of the crossroads along both the A283 and the A272, seeing that tonight confirmed my fears of what could happen at any one of them.

The signage is not sufficient to make the roads safe for those driving in the dark. Seeing the crossroads on the satnav is the clearest way to expect them.
