Very low branch
Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 11:19, Tue 12 December 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5310635.
Having no sight in my right eye I find this branch exceedingly low and highly dangerous. Its been like this for some time and I think it is an accident waiting to happen. Surely it is time for this to be removed.

Has nobody got any commence when it comes to pruning a tree. The situation now has been made worse with the end of the branch at eye level. Suggest you take the whole bough off to avoid any accidents.

This tree has been inspected and is not considered to require remedial works at this time. Bromley will only undertake works to a tree for an identified health & safety or highway obstruction issue. The situation will be reviewed cyclically and any required action will be addressed within a future works programme.

Thank you for your comments. The tree has historically always had a lean and to completely remove the limb would leave the tree's crown unbalanced, leaving it in a weakened condition under wind loading. It is noted that a stub has been left which further works have been raised to reduce the stub back close to branch collar. In following best arboricultural practices, we do not flush cut trees as the tree will poorly occlude the wound opening up the tree to pest and disease.
