Two drains completely blocked

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5293903.

A couple of weeks ago Homefield Road was thoroughly cleaned but two of the drains in the gutter are totally blocked with mud. I had hoped they would be cleared as part of the cleaning process, but although the gutter was swept, the drains are still blocked. There are two, on the western side of the road and just north of the junction with Lyndhurst Road. One about 20 metres north and then another about 30 metres further up. Since the road floods regularly I think it would be helpful to clear these drains.

  • Had a message from the council. They won't clear the drains unless it is causing flooding. So long as rain is running away down nearby drains that's considered ok. Seems a bit shortsighted to me, but there we are!
