Out of control Conifer Trees

Reported in the Trees category by Brian Frost at 10:53, Wed 1 October 2014

Sent to Newport Council 2 minutes later

Two Conifer trees in the front garden of 9 Sutherland Crescent have been allowed to grow out of control for many years and are now 25+ feet high. The trees are blocking out the light from the nearby houses and branches over hang the road way where they are regularly hit by large and high sided vehicles. I feel that it is only a matter of time before a branch snaps and falls to the ground hopefully when no-one is walking on the footpath underneath.

  • The property in question is owned and let by Charter Housing. Emails have been sent to them regarding this problem but they choose to not send replies. Newport Council have stated that they will 'Issue a Notice to the Property' but as the property is correctly unoccupied surely the 'Notice' should be issued to Charter Housing?
