Constant pavement obstruction

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 09:22, Fri 1 December 2023

Sent to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5271279.

At the top of Tudor terrace there are almost always cars parked fully on the pavement by the street sign. This is a constant issue and has been happening for a long time. Car owners who park there know that if the park half on/off the pavement to leave space for pedestrians, their car could partly block the road, so with a total disregard to pedestrians they park fully on the pavement completely obstructing it. Nobody can pass by because they park right up to the wall and so to pass people have to put themselves in danger by stepping into the road with an obstructed view of oncoming traffic. People have slipped and been injured stepping out to go past these cars (and even vans) who use that pavement part as a parking space instead of parking further down the road.

Updates

  • Still a huge problem in this area. This car shown is a regular offender parking completely on the pavement with no cares about anyone else. The council should put up a no parking sign on that part of the pavement as those that park there always park fully on the pavement.
