The stile in Brook street is old and has become dangerous for pedestrians due to one of the wooden bars being broken and the steps of the stile being very slippery when wet. The vertical handrail is also missing. Until very recently, to the right of the stile there was a gap where pedestrians could pass without using the stile, however this has now been blocked up with wire netting, which is attached with cable ties to the stile itself. This now makes the footpath behind the stile inaccessible to pedestrians.
