Temporary traffic lights
Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 18:32, Mon 27 November 2023
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5258626.
Temporary traffic lights have appeared with no advance notice just to the East of Marcham on the A415.
No sign of any work taking place; there were certainly no workers on sight.
I see from One Network they are to do with Open Reach. Why was no notice of the works given?
As they are going to be here for 2 weeks they must be manned at peak times. The queue from Abingdon was back beyond the Marcham interchange at 4.45 pm this evening.
Finally arriving at the lights only 4 cars at a time we're being let through. Woefully inadequate.

Sunday 3d December the temporary traffic lights are not working on the A415 at 4.15pm . Going into Abingdon the lights are off but they seem to be working from abingdon to Marcham. Therefore the traffic coming from Marcham does not know when to go. Urgent as a main road. L Mott Anson Close

At 10:20pm this problem remains and presents a real danger at night and in wet conditions.

Monday evening 5PM (04.12.23) work had clearly completed and yet traffic lights remained causing the usual avoidable delays (if only the lights had been manned - or in this case removed)!
Lights remained in situ at 7AM this morning (05.12.23) again causing delays and again should have been removed Monday PM
Woeful contracting
