By way in despair

Reported via desktop in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category anonymously at 09:42, Wed 22 November 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5240347.

The settlement sits upon a junction of Apethorpe Road, a publicly adopted highway, and an unnamed byway, a remnant of the old Oundle to Stamford droveway. The part of it which passes New Sulehay Lodge and the all-purpose entrances to Swallow Cottage and New Sulehay Cottage is a publicly adopted byway. The byway is used by the residents of both cottages and, with permission, the residents of New Sulehay Lodge, as well as utility vehicles (post van, refuse collector etc).It is a vital conduit to and from those properties. Some years ago, the byway fell into disrepair and Northamptonshire County Council carried out some repairs. These have now disintegrated and inspection will reveal the shocking condition of the byway as far as Farm Cottage.
