Reclaiming the edges

Reported via iOS in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 21:16, Monday 20 November 2023

Sent to South Gloucestershire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5234923.

Firstly thank you for taking the time and expense to clear this lane/location of overhanging and encroaching vegetation and trees. I’m sure this is no doubt in hand, however to further enhance this shared path - could the edges be reclaimed from encroaching ground earth? You can see from the photos, that I have cleared two small areas to expose the tarmac path and have unearthed an addition two foot width of path. As this is a shared path - this additional width would maximise its use and improve the safety of all users. In its current state it appears inadequate for such shared use, particularly at points where pedestrians are emerging and entering. As the path is there, it would seem somewhat strange to not utilise its original width and as so much time has been spent clearing it - it would compliment it and finish it off. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this request.
