Access/Egress to Ditchford Road
Reported via desktop in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 17:52, Mon 20 November 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5234309.
Issue 1 reported by colleague: 'Can we get some improved signs at the entrance to the approach road as I have had a issue with a person blocking the entrance again and got the middle finger if there had been traffic behind me it could cause a problem especially if the tankers had been blocked trying to turn in'
Issue 2 Poor visibility when joining Ditchford Road from the sewage works. Traffic steams down the hill to beat the traffic lights so risk of a major accident. Look at improving visibility.

Investigation: Completed (Highways to Monitor, Routine Inspection Programme) - Many apologies for the delay in replying to this. Unfortunately the lack of verge space may limit what we can do here in terms of improving visibility. Whilst I appreciate the difficulty for the tanker drivers, the reason for the marking should become clear if a vehicle is prevented from turning and following vehicles are queuing across the narrow bridge when the signals change. We may be able to add an advisory sign 'Turning area please keep clear' below the red 'no public access' sign. We will also review if it is feasible to add a second such marking closer to the bridge to give a wider space for turning vehicles.
