Twenty foot long 12" wide 8" deep trench immediately adjacent to the tarmac

Reported via desktop in the Verges - Damaged by Vehicles category anonymously at 17:19, Mon 20 November 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5234174.

This trench was made by a tractors trailer squeezing past to avoid a car, & it's rear wheels went off the tarmac & onto the verge. The ground was soaking wet, and the trailers tyres carved out a trench for at least twenty feet along the edge of the tarmac. There are no markings to show the edge of the highway, so vehicles are now dropping into this disastrous trench in an effort to avoid speeding vehicles in the dark.
