Road surface breaking up
Reported via desktop in the Potholes category by Ian Downie at 10:36, Fri 17 November 2023
Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5222963.
Once again, this section has degraded and has potholes and there is a very rough surface. It was repaired temporarily a few months back but now the repair has failed.

The temporary repairs are an expensive and short-sighted approach which puts lives at risk, as well as costing motorists a great deal of angst and personal cost. Diverting funds from maintaining existing roads to fund 'vanity projects' is part of the problem. The millions spent on 'improvements' should wait until the current roads are made good.

This area of the road is getting worse every day. It is extremely dangerous as it is on a bend and you have to stop and then proceed very slowly to (hopefully) avoid damage to your car. The pot holes are across the whole width of the road. It has been reported numerous times and nothing is being done to rectify it.

Any work carried out is by cowboy workers using sub-standard materials. The contractor is laughing all the way to the bank as any work done is so shoddy it last like a week, so they get paid to go back again and again. The Highways also are complicit in this failure to fulfil duty as they can claim they filled 1,000 potholes, but actually they filled 100 ten times.
