Very Deep Pothole

Reported via iOS in the Pothole category anonymously at 08:29, Fri 17 November 2023

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5222154.

The road surface has collapsed almost opposite Dyson Drive deep enough for it to almost take the steering wheel out of my hands. If a motor cyclist or cyclist hits this it has the potential of causing a very serious accident they could be thrown off their bike. It could seriously injure them and has the potential for causing a very serious accident causing injury. I will have to have my tracking looked at due to the violent nature of my car hitting it in the dark. It does need immediate attention.

I have already reported the collapse of a road repair on the road on the opposite side of the road in this area. It appears that the company repairing these issues are not repairing the base layer of some repairs resulting in a larger problem when the repair sinks which has happened in several areas that have been repaired on the B3047 along its entire length. This is particularly noticeable between School Lane and St Swithuns Church.
