Ditch flooding over road

Reported via desktop anonymously at 11:42, Mon 13 November 2023

Sent to Breckland District Council and Norfolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5204836.

There is a drainage ditch on the bend of the road to the East of our house, Glebe House NR17 1NL, that has been flooding (days after any significant rainfall). I have had extensive investigation by Anglian Water for a mains water leak and they have assured me that there is NO leak. They are of the opinion that this is water run off from the field that has nowhere to go? There is a ditch but any pipework is most likely silted up? This is becoming a road safety hazard as the puddle that has formed is in danger of icing up on what is effectively a "blind" bend on that side of the road?

  • This problem is still outstanding. The flooding has caused the entrance to our driveway to be continually be covered in mud, washing away the gravel at the entrance. It is a road safety hazard on a blind bend that will become lethal on icy conditions.
