Drain blocked - frequently causing big puddles

Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain category anonymously at 17:28, Fri 10 November 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5198111.

There is a blocked drain (full of mud and with plants growing out of it) which means that there is frequently an enormous puddle here. It is so large that pedestrians cannot help getting their feet very wet (there is no pavement). This issue has been ongoing for many months/years, perhaps the drain is cleaned from time to time, but right now there is an issue.

  • I believe the location I have marked on the map is pretty much spot on. The blocked drain is very close to the building by the marker. I'm not sure there is a nearby street light, as you will see from my after dark picture where that area is extremely dark and hard to navigate. Approaching from the direction of Brabourne Rise, turn down St Dunstan's Lane, through the width restriction, proceed past the football club and past the next building (the squash court, seen in the pictures), the drain is right there.

  • Next to the tennis courts on old dunstonians lane. The kids can’t pass without their feet and legs getting soaked and muddy. I’m sure the secondary schools will be in touch too! It’s not a good look having muddy shoes, socks and trousers

  • The problem has demonstrably not been fixed. First you couldn't find the drain even though it was clearly marked on the map and there was a clear photograph of the location. And then after over two and half months (an unacceptably long time) you say it has been fixed when it has not. Is there a way to escalate this?

  • We are working with our contractors as access to the gully is difficult for such a large vehicle - we hope to have this issue resolved soon.
