Storm drain silted up and blocked causing flooding

Clearing the top of the storm drain does not help because it is fully silted up INSIDE. Storm drain is located just before the lane to Pinfarthings below the Pinfarthings sign as you come down from Beau Desert School. What 3 Words:anchovies.lifted.punch Storm drain high up the road also totally blocked. Water floods down the road, into Pinfarthings, onto the stone wall by Hoarstone House. The wall is in danger of collapsing, which would cause the main road into the village to also collapse. That would cause major road works.

I am pleased to inform you this drainage issue has been resolved.
Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/road-maintenance
Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.
If you are concerned about flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/flood-risk-management/flooding-information/flood-guide
