Poor Remedial Repair

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category by Mike Pinchen at 13:05, Wed 25 October 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5136159.

Recent remedial repairs (following damage by HGVs during the new school build), are of a poor low-quality standard. Some of the replacement curb stones are a different size, some are cracked/chipped, and some have not been reset/replaced at all. There are gaps between the ‘new’ curbs and the road surface, which will allow water to ingress, which when frozen will expand and create further problems. The ‘tarmac’ coating on the path has already started to erode in some places at curb level. It seems that Edgebury estate is treated as some sort of appendage, and that ‘we’ will put up with shoddy repairs. Why should we? We pay our council tax just like everyone else in the Borough. I don’t know who signed these works off, but I suggest that if it were their own property they would not have done so; indeed, if the Leader of the Council lived in Slades Drive, it would be a different story. With the above in mind, may I request that a ‘revisit’ be made, with a view to surveying the whole of the pathway, from the junction with Edgehill Rd to the Slades Drive cul-de-sac. The attached photos do not give a full picture. I have others if you would like them.
