Speed bump broken & dangerous, and no lights

The temporary speed bump in the roadworks is broken and not fit for purpose. Some of the sections have come loose and are spread across the road. Its a dangerous obstruction, especially to motorbikes. The type of speedbump put in does slow traffic, but does not look like its up to job for the heavy traffic that is going over it. The road works also are not well lit at night and the cones do not have orange lights which makes it more hazardous for road users to navigate (especially coming in to Didcot from the A34) as the roadworks are creating a chicane effect.

Couldn’t agree more! This is dangerous. Inadequate lighting, on part of a chicane style road works, in a 30mph zone when actually you need to be crawling over them given the size and amount of them, width means if passing a HGV it’s very tight and causing absolute havoc. I have seen emergency vehicles trying to get through and there is no way to get out of their way. Although now secured down, one has become loose again so by tomorrow that will be separate again. If vehicles aren’t damaged, then vehicles will be.

We believe this has now been resolved by one of the Senior Officers in the Highways and Operations Team.
