Tactile paving on cycleway dangerous when wet

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 12:44, Thu 19 October 2023

Not reported to council

The tan coloured concrete tactile paving at the entry/exit to the cycle path outside Halford on Meadow Road is extremely slippery when wet. This corrugated concrete is placed to denote the entry/exit to the cycle path for the visually impaired however it becomes a skid risk in wet conditions and as it is often at junctions cycles are often turning when they pass over it. I have had a couple of slips when my rear wheel slid out when cornering to join the path. Speed was fairly low and luckily I had enough control to stay upright. I now always make sure I cross this paving in a straight line. However it is only a matter of time before somebody unaware or less confident with bike control has a serious accident. Indeed it may have happened several times for all I know.

It also presents a danger to pedestrians.
