Very poor visibility at junction

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5109798.
I made a report on 15 October 2023 relating to the need for a mirror at this junction but the request has been rejected. I wish to appeal this decision on the basis that the junction is very dangerous with extremely limited visibility and I do not want the council to delay action until it is too late (ie once there has been an accident). There is a very similar junction coming out of Amwell Springs slightly further up Westfield Road which does benefit from a mirror and this junction needs one too. It is critical that drivers coming out of the lane on to Westfield Road can see whether there is a car coming as, at the moment, it requires edging out very dangerously towards cars which are often travelling at very high speeds on Westfield Road (as the speed limit is 60mph). I would be grateful if this could be urgently reconsidered. Many thanks.

Thank you for raising your concern. Apologies for the delay in response. I am sorry, however Oxfordshire County Council does not support the use of mirrors on the carriageway. We will investigate this junction and will make any changes deemed necessary but this will likely not include installation of a new mirror.
