21” x 16” pothole on road junction

Reported via iOS in the Pothole category by David Collings at 07:57, Tue 17 October 2023

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5104721.

This pothole is on the junction of Ryelaw Road and Reading Road South. Vehicles driving into Ryelaw Road go through the pothole making it wider and deeper. Current depth is 2” to 3”. This junction is continuously being patched up with temporary repairs with fail. I have reported potholes in this same location several times. After each repair I despair because it is obvious the surface will breakup in a short space of time. Further up Ryelaw Road there have been two pothole repairs which have been extremely well done in an professional standard. Why can’t all potholes be treated in a similar way?
