Light sensor is not detecting vehicles problem

Reported in the Light sensor is not detecting vehicles category by Gloucestershire County Council at 06:21, Tue 17 October 2023

FixMyStreet ref: 5104642.

Traffic lights
Timings are incorrect

I drive along Bruton Way through these traffic lights daily at around 05:45 to 06:00 and they seem to spend far more time being red than green. This is obviously not environmentally friendly as they force myself and other road users to stop their (every day) due to being red whilst there is never any traffic coming from either Station Road or pedestrians pressing the crossing button. When viewed from the train station heading towards these lights they only ever appear to stay green long enough to let a couple of cars through before turning red again. This seems ludicrous as surely the most environmentally sound way for them to operate would be for them to be green at all times and only change when either cars are exiting Station Road or pedestrians press the crossing button? This would keep the traffic flowing on the main thoroughfare.
