Suspected pest on tree

A tree’s branch split exposing a white fungi. Could be white rot or a pest that could infect other trees around it. It looks like a type of cherry tree and there are lots like it around. I’m not sure if the tree’s trunk is now weak and it might collapse on my property. It may need cutting entirely
