Investigating
Delapidated Road
Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category by Cllr Peter Dowsett at 11:35, Sun 15 October 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5098803.
This report was closed without doing the work committed to for September 2023. Residents continue to complain about the noise cause by HGVs crashing through these potholes from the early hours of the morning. Vehicles are swerving to avoid the damaged road surfaces. The previous repairs are failing. This piece of road appears to need full resurfacing not repair. In the long term this road needs to be reduced to 30mph for the amenity of residents and safety of vulnerable road users and particularly school pupils getting to schools at the opposite side of the A43 from the new SUEs and Weldon Village.

Why NNC paying for repairs and waisting our money on repairs? I drive on this road more than year and I am shocked to see how NNC treat us. I understand repairs to be done once, twice, but when people reporting again and again potholes, STOP paying small and partial repairs and pay for full resurfacing. We are not blind, we can see repairs are done partially, not even all potholes are repaired and in few days new potholes are visible. What need to happen for people responsible to take the correct decisions? Its a joke on our expenses.

Investigation: Completed (Defect Found) - Works were delayed due to the clashing of nearby works with utilities, so we were unable to carry out our work as per the regulations required. Road closure has been provisionally planned for overnight repairs week commencing 30th October, all being well.

Half of Stamford Road is without potholes because that both lanes for that half were done how supposed to be done, the other half of the road is full again with potholes even if in December 2023 the potholes were covered. Is getting worse every day.
