Flooding in my garden
Reported via desktop anonymously at 10:07, Sat 14 October 2023
Sent to Milton Keynes Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5096455.
During the past month or so, when it rains water does not flow away in the downpipe. It fountains out from where the downpipe meets the ground, flooding the land right next to my house and foundations. What can I do? A Firm has checked and found no blockage.

Not sure if fixed, but might be. On the other hand, there is road flooding on my street 50 yards or so down the road.

On 5-1-24 I reported garden flooding which occured on 4-1-24 to MK Council. I told them it wasn't an emergency, but I wanted to report it so that there was a record of it. They acknowledged the report. It happens when it rains medium to heavy, and is due to the County's drainage system being unable to cope with the amount of water when it rains more than lightly.

I will continue to inform the MK council whenever water gushes out from my downpipe. I want there to be a record of it in case the constant soaking of my house foundations causes subsidence.

I've discussed with Anglia Water & MK Council, and I think the problem is that my pipe from my gutter to the street drain is partly blocked, which is my responsibility. I have to check this out and get it cleared. I'm not insured for this so will have to pay.
