Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5091681.
The public footpath between the edge of the Rockingham Forest Park (OS grid ref TL 03405 97360) and TL 02626 97004 is difficult, and in parts impossible, to follow as shown on Ordnance Survey leisure maps.
There is next to no signage, aside from sign at the grid refs mentioned above, and one footpath disc at TL 03153 97268 (pointing eastward). No path has been reinstated across the arable fields between this point and TL 02676 97023, whereafter the path is badly overgrown. There is no provision for inter-field access (gates or stiles) where the path cross the old airfield runway ( TL 02875 97116 and TL 02912 97137), forcing walkers to take an unofficial diversion on the old airfield perimeter track.
Signage is much clearer between TL 02626 97002 and the old railway bridge at TL 02145 96986 (where there are permissive path signs), however, the path needs reinstating when crops are growing.
Walked 10/10/2023 (previously walked five years ago; issues persisting since then).
