Deep pothome on Viking Way opposite entrance to Brunswick Gardens

Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 12:37, Thu 12 October 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5090022.

Pothole is marked up but the mark up is wearing out, so it has been there for a while. It is very deep - a good couple of inches at least!!!! My Fiesta driver side front tyre went down it when travelling at 7.10pm in the dark, it was impossible to see. It felt like I'd hit something -scared the life out of me! Massive crunch and I immediately felt sick thinking I was bound to have a flat (we've already had to replace one tyre this year on the other car from a flat due to a pothole on Fotheringhay Rd) - I'd got one teen at home, the other just dropped off to the gym and a husband in Wales! I pulled into the next close to check for damage. Miraculously the tyre was fine, but I'm not convinced it hasn't done something to the suspension and will be having it checked when it goes in for it's MOT in 2 weeks time. It is dangerous, particularly to smaller cars and needs repair urgently.
