Abandoned bags of rubbish
Reported in the Flytipping category anonymously at 19:54, Thu 26 March 2009
Sent to Wear Valley District Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 50557.
There are very often abandoned bags of rubbish left at the walkway entrance to the old railway line. These dont ever seem to be waste for recycling and therefore is very likely to be household waste and therefore is likely to attract vermine.

its an ongoing problem. the bags are being removed at some stage but mount up again within a couple of days. it leaves the street looking untidy and will inevitably cause an attraction to vermine.

The bags are being collected and taken away, but it is an ongoing problem and the rubbish mounts up again almost immediately after its been taken away. I think a big sign would need to be placed there saying its not permitted because from what I've heard, people thinks its still allowed as it was years ago.
