Broken fence owned by council

Reported via mobile anonymously at 12:45, Thu 21 September 2023

Sent to Runnymede Borough Council and Surrey County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5017642.

We understand that the wooden fence which constitutes the border between our house (40, Orchard Way, KT15 1NR) and the land on the corner of Orchard Way and Rowhurst Avenue maintained by the council as green open land is the responsibility of the council.

The section of the fence that serves as the boundary of our back garden is now in a dangerous state. One or more of the panels have detached from the pillars and some of the wooden pillars have also rotted. In the winter, with strong winds, these sections of the fence are liable to be blown down. We have just had our first child and the condition of the fence means it is not safe for us to ever take our young baby into the back garden.

Please advise what remedial action you will be taking to make your fence safe.
