Driveway / Dropped Kerb Has Sunk

Reported via mobile in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 08:14, Tuesday 19 September 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5008301.

Number 112 The Grove West Wickham has a dropped kerb to allow access to their driveway. The area to the driveway that crosses the flagstones is made of small blocks but these have sunk and now it has becoming a trip hazard when walking away from Oaklands Avenue. When walking towards Oaklands Avenue, it has become a large unexpected drop which is back jarring. I myself have tripped up and seen others trip on the flagstones where they meet the small pavement blocks. Please can the original profile be restored.

  • I have walked past the problem this morning and have noticed that whoever came out to investigate the problem has sprayed white paint in the form of a box around the wrong area, i.e. the problem area has not been marked correctly. To confirm, the problem / hazard area is where the small paving blocks meet / join the large pavement flagstones. There is only one point where this happens. If you stand facing the property (112 The Grove), the problem area is on the left of the driveway, not the centre / right of the driveway.

  • Problem areas are highlighted in red and blue. These areas are outside of the area marked by whoever came out to initially inspect the problem.

I want to confirm that this issue has not been fixed. Your contractor has painted the footpath in spray pain but this is the only action that has been taken. To confirm, this issue has not been fixed.
