Dear Mary, Thank you for your email, and I am sorry to hear about the frustration caused due to the various road closures and diversions within Angmering. Unfortunately, Arun District Council do not deal with road closures and diversions, as this is the responsibility of the Highways Authority (in this case West Sussex County Council). WSCC Highways work with applicants and developers to avoid the closure of certain roads (or a combination of roads) that will cause delays and issues vehicle users. However, I suspect that in some instances delays are unavoidable or there may be more delay to road users than they would have hoped for. You can find out more about likely road closures and disruption on the WSCC website under “roadworks map” here https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/ roads-and-travel/ roadworks-and-projects/ Kind Regards, Jessica Riches (She / Her) Principal Planning Officer Strategic Development Team, Planning T: 01903 737852 E: jessica.riches@arun.gov.uk Arun District Council, Civic Centre, Maltravers Rd Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN17 5LF www.arun.gov.uk To register to receive notification of planning applications in your area please go to www1.arun.gov.uk/planning-application-finder image001.jpg image002.jpg image003.jpg image004.png -----Original Message----- From: Nicola Spencer <Nicola.Spencer@arun.gov.uk> On Behalf Of Planning Sent: Thursday, September 14, 2023 5:54 PM To: Jessica Riches <Jessica.Riches@arun.gov.uk> Subject: FW: Disruption and pollution around Angmering. Who failed to anticipate the disruption and pollution caused to the local population two different private housing developments around Angmering being permitted to close lanes or roads on the same days. It has caused delays and stress and pollution for many coming off the A27 to find a long jam on the Angmering bypass and the A 259 Many like myself tried to then turn into Angmering to find that road was closed. Not good enough planners. Staggering the developers ability to impede traffic would have relieved the situation but no one seems to have thought of that. People have failed to be able to keep medical and ,professional appointments and lost monies as a result for the private gain of the favoured developers.
