Public footpath beside road not sign posted
Reported via mobile in the Sign Missing/Damaged category anonymously at 22:36, Wednesday 13 September 2023
Sent to Bromley Council 4 hours, 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 4992073.
I have seen many many pedestrians walking uphill of this marked spot, on foot on the road. The road is 40 MPH with no pavement and narrows on a bend, particularly dangerous for walkers. Frequently people walk on foot to collect their car from the garage further up the road, or to get to other locations in that direction. These are visitors that do not know the area, and more people like these will continue to try to access the garage, on foot. Someone will be harmed if they haven't already been. Please can the Council clearly mark that the road is not suitable for pedestrians, and that there is a suitable & safe path just the other side of the hedge?

Thank you for reporting your concerns at this location. Unfortunately there are many narrow roads and footways at various locations around the Borough and country, and in general they are as safe as other roads. I can confirm that there have been no reported accidents at this location in the last five years.
In regards to signage for the footpath I have checked and I’m afraid that this footway this isn’t a recognised public right of way therefore we are unable to provide signage.
