Dangerous cycle path design

When Waitrose was constructed the footpaths on the downside of Waitrose were re-designed to accommodate cyclists (at the bequest of the local councillor, who only supports cyclist rights and not residents). The provisional change included a path across the exists of two houses. The Council promised to conduct risk assessments given the speed at which cyclist cross the entrance to Waitrose and veer across the disjointed footpath (pedestrians and local residents are constantly verbally abused by cyclists). The entire design is unsafe and cyclists have been bit by traffic going into and out of Waitrose as well. The cycle path is like a FI chicane. Given the collapsed plans to develop Botley Road this cycle lane needs to be engineered so that cyclists are either on the road or cycle next to the road (I note that 40 yards further up the road they have to go onto the road). Exiting driveways is a difficult task and when my disabled son leaves the house in a wheelchair in his wheelchair with his carers, they are often abused by cyclists who demand right of way on a pedestrian-only path.

    Please find attached 3 images showing the hazardous cycle path design that cuts across the pedestrian path twice. The last photo show where the cycle path finally the road and the 1st photo shows the ridiculous design on front of waitrose , which means pedestrians are faced with no safe passage (especially as this is in front of a house exit).
