Deep pot holes and missing tarmac everywhere

Reported via desktop in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 17:23, Wed 13 September 2023

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4990716.

Both up hill and downhill sections are beset by deep pot holes and have been for a long time. Some have been " repaired" a few weeks ago but not even to a basic standard. Why not all ? We still have to swerve to avoid damage to our tyres and downward section will be very dangerous once icy conditions arrive. The whole road needs resurfacing, not patching or there will be a serious accident. Please do something about it before a terrible accident happens.

  • Please be aware that the holes are now so deep that cars are swerving across the road into oncoming traffic (just to avoid them). Given that the council is aware but choosing to do nothing until the middle of Winter (January 24), the assumption is that you are now taking full responsibility for any accidents resulting from the potholes.

  • The latest response from NNC highways is very helpful - what it means, is that every road user who suffers damage to their vehicle between now and the repair date, can send the invoice to the council for reimbursement…..

  • I can't believe that nothing is happening NOW as this road is already dangerous and will be treacherous in icy conditions. Motorcyclists should take a different route.
