Large Oak Trees need ivy trimming.

Reported via mobile in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 15:01, Thu 7 September 2023

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4969543.

Hello

I was hoping somebody could help. There are a Number of large oak trees on New street hill that are being killed by ivy. Some are heavily covered and in strong weather there is a big worry they will fall down. We have had 4 so far fall one writing off a van of a worker on the street. Outside our house number 67 we have one that is showing signs of the tree dying with large dead branches. If this tree does come down it will land directly onto our car and on top of our house with our daughters room being on the front. We would really appreciate this being maintained. Many thanks Danielle

  • This tree has now fallen due to ivy and winds. Luckily it was one of the small ones. Not the big ones. This again was partly due to all the ivy covering all of the trees. This problem need sorting asap before it kills somebody or lands on a person or a house

  • Dear resident, The tree out side will have the dead wood removed and crown lifted to 6 M. We do not automatically remove ivy from trees. Ivy dose not kill trees, it sustains a vast array of wild life that is important to our echo system. Other trees in the road have been inspect and work arranged.

    Thank you
