Resurfacing of Alan Road and pavements, in Darton

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 17:45, Tue 17 March 2009

Sent to Barnsley Borough Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 49319.

I am reporting this on behalf of my elderly Grandma who lives on Alan Road and her young neighbour that lives opposite with her small infant. please can the council come and resurface the pavements and road area of Alan Road in Darton as it is full of pot holes. making it very dangerous when walking/ driving around this area for her and other pensioners and people with young families in pushchairs etc. Thankyou.

Updates

  • again I think a blob of tarmac has just been stratigicly placed in order to make it look like the council have done some thing about this issue. very unimpressed!

  • The effected areas on Alan Road have now been re-surfaced. Approx 75% is now new tarmac. When workmen was asked why it hadn't 100% been re-surfaced. Was told that another road in our area had been done and if they did another it may be seen as showing favour to Darton. But did say they'd be back next year (2011) to do the full re-surface. Madness!
