Road surface in shocking state

Reported via desktop in the Road Defect category by Sam Webber at 02:26, Tue 22 August 2023

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4914838.

Could the road surface be inspected here please? If possible can it be logged to be resurfaced or even temporarily patched up assuming it meets LBB requitements? Work looks long overdue

  • The Council conducts a programme of condition surveys and annual safety inspections of the highway network to identify those localities requiring minor repairs and major refurbishment works. All enquiries are investigated to ascertain the requirements for safety repairs and refurbishment works. In the latter case a street will be considered for a potential scheme as part of the Council’s Major Highway Maintenance Works Programme. At present, our current rolling programme does not feature the reported road in question. In the interim the condition of the highway will continue to receive regular safety inspections and any necessary work undertaken accordingly, specific issues in the road should be reported with location details as new reports via https://fix.bromley.gov.uk for investigation.

  • I have asked the LBB Highways team to inspect this road. Some resurfacing is needed here at the very least or the pothole needs to be filled in?

  • In light of additional money from central government could this job be locked at again to see if part of the road surface can be fixed even if only as a temporary job, to ensure it doesn't get worse in the winter months. It is in a very poor state.
