Long Grass obscuring visibility
Reported anonymously at 13:44, Tue 17 June 2014
Sent to North Somerset Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 489715.
I reported this problem a couple of weeks ago but despite mowing grass around the bus stop the extremely dangerous lack of visibility at the junction has been ignored. I have attached a photo this time to make it clear that a few feet of visibility is absolutely no use when traffic is travelling at 50mph and more on the Portbury Hundreds and you pull out in front of them at 0mph. Somebody will be killed at this junction if this is not addressed. I pull out of this junction every single night and almost every night I get beeped by cars on the main road having to carry out an emergency stop because they are travelling at many times my speed and I couldn't see them when I pulled out. It will only cost s few pounds to mow this grass but it will cost many thousands to clear up a serious or even fatal accident. Please resolve this.

Two reports and six weeks passed still no action. Lots of tall weeds now growing out of the already long grass so visibility now worse than ever. Mowing regularly takes place at the other end of the Sheepway where there are houses and there is no danger because you pull onto a 30mph road. No mowing takes place at the Portbury Hundreds end where you pull onto a road where everybody is doing 50mph +. Crazy and very short sighted.
