Branches overhanging road and pavement

Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 10:37, Mon 7 August 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4865503.

Tree hasn't been pruned for 3 years plus therefore branches are overhanging the road and pavement. Telegraph wires are getting obstructed and bowed by the extra growth too.

  • Please note as per our last update we have notified our contractor to do the works. Once they have completed the works, the message update will be to the effect "Works now completed." We do not give time frames when they will attend this tree. Also note, they will only be removing the dead branches and removing /shortening some of the lower branches. Bromley will only undertake works to a tree for an identified health & safety or highway obstruction issue. Please note that as outlined in our Tree Management Strategy Tree management strategy - Foreword - Tree management strategy - 2023 to 2027 (bromley.gov.uk)

The Council will not prune trees in relation to the following: • Branches overhanging properties • Where a tree is thought be overly large • Interference with satellite, TV or other media reception • Branches and/or limbs in physical contact with telephone wires • Excessive leaf fall • Fruit fall • Problems associated with pollen • Excreta caused by insects or birds • Obstruction of view • Lack of light.
