Parking across pavement

Reported via iOS in the Car parking category anonymously at 17:00, Fri 4 August 2023

Sent to Runnymede Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4859640.

In both Sandalwood and Ferndale Avenues, people began parking on the kerb about 18 months ago. This has continued spreading and now it is virtually impossible to walk in the area without walking in the road and very dangerous if walking with a pram or buggy. The only signs up are about £50 fines for dog fouling. This parking issue needs to be dealt with before someone gets injured or killed. The main other effect of clearing the roads by parking on the pavement is that cars now speed round the bends thereby increasing the risks even further. This is a serious accident waiting to happen.

  • Apparently it’s not an offence in Surrey to be inconsiderate and create danger to the public who aren’t speeding around local roads, especially young children in prams and strollers.
