Fading White Lines across gateway

Reported via mobile in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 11:43, Tue 18 July 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4799102.

Unfortunately, over the years, previous NCC white lines have degraded to such an extent that cars are now parking too close to the gateway (particularly on the left - as you leave the car park) This is causing access and egress issues on a regular basis. If there are cars parked opposite the gateway, it is occasionally impossible to turn left into Dryden Street. As a result people are forced to turn right – illegally as Dryden Street is one way.

  • Can you confirm that this will be completed by 19th January, in line with your 26 lead time above? Access/egress difficulties are increasing putting road users and pedestrians at risk.

  • Having spoken to Keir Highways on the phone and been given assurance that existing line would be 'reinstated' (and that a second visit would be made if this was not possible, due to parked vehicles) it is most annoying that this was not done. There was clearly a car parked too close to the gateway when Contractors attended on Tuesday so the they only painted up to that point and were not able to include an 'end' line. The resulting line is therefore too short and does not give adequate room to turn left. Please confirm that contractors will attend at the earliest opportunity to rectify the situation.
