Bridge (grade 2 listed) partly demolished in bad car accident at midnight Fri 30 Jun/Sat 1st July. Accident was attended by Thames Valley Police. Bridge dangerous to pedestrians as no side next to pavement for a little way. Looks like some of side has been shunted away from pavement and is still in danger of falling.

    There are more cracks appearing in the bridge. With the recent heavy rain and the HGVs that uses this grade 2 listed bridge, it looks likely that some more of the bridge will collapse at some point. As a reminder, pedestrians use this bridge regularly, the canal goes under this bridge and there is regular boat traffic. I will also be passing this onto the local parish council

  • This has been outstanding for far too long. This is a busy road with heavy HGV use. It is very unsafe - slight contact could send the whole wall into the canal. Suggest you pull your fingers out!!!
