Dumped/Obstructing/Commerical vehicles parked on road blocking turnings

Reported via desktop in the Roads/Highways category anonymously at 14:52, Thu 29 June 2023

Sent to Lewisham Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4731630.

The people who live next to the nursery on Perry Hill with the variety of vans and caravans (we believe it is number 133) have been parking a wide variety of vans in various states of disrepair on Perry Hill, Rutland Park etc for many months.

These are clearly being used for business purposes as on Sundays all of them are parked up and throughout the week any number of them are on the road.

They park them on corners of roads coming on to Perry Hill creating a hazard for turning out as you cannot see past them to see traffic coming in and out.

These are the same people who had various caravans on the road previously.

Please serve a removal notice to #133 and for any future vehicular ownership.

If they want to run a van dealership/transport business/scrap metal business then they need to secure an acceptable parking area for their fleet of vehicles.

More evidence below.

The fact these people CONTINUOUSLY degrade and disrespect the area with their poorly-maintained vehicles and oversized vans blocking pavements and turnings shows a complete disregard for the area they live in and hence not covering the number plates up.

They obviously do not care about the issues they are causing - yes this is an accusation but Lewisham Council have been made aware of this problem and done absolutely nothing (so far).

    Here's hoping they will soon.

  • Having seen this, I would like to add that at times they park two pairs of vehicles opposite each other, creating a narrow gap for the road.

These are also the same people who illegally parked caravans in the same area and tried selling vans there too but were removed.
