Dangerous bend chevron sign on bad bend on Dairy House Lane Woodford

Reported via iOS in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 13:20, Tue 20 June 2023

Sent to Stockport Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4695005.

The bad bend chevron sign cannot be seen as shrubs and grass have grown and it is now hidden from view. Bend is dangerous and cars just drive in the middle of the road - drivers coming from the opposite direction experience near misses. I drive this route twice a day. I have taking the time & trouble to report this to SMBC this morning and they have emailed to say they do not cover this area. They gave the nearest postcode as SK8 7NN but that postcode is NOT Dairy House Lane, yes, it’s nearby. Maybe East Cheshire Council are responsible? If no one is claiming responsibility… it’ll be up to me to cut the foliage back- I don’t fancy doing this as the road is busy and that bend is dangerous. Many thanks.

  • Hi, I pass these chevron signs that indicates a bad bend every day… it’s still not been fixed. Basically it’s bent and now very hard to see as foliage has grown up around it. Any chance that someone could straighten the signs & cut the foliage back, please? I know the road sharply bends to the left or the right (depending on your direction of travel) as I pass it daily. Many thanks.

  • The chevron signs are now covered with brambles & weeds… NO ONE has been and attempted to cut them down to make the chevron signs visible indicating dangerous bend ahead. It would appear that I have one course of action left to take ….. DO IT MYSELF… wish me luck as it’s a dangerous bend.
